POISONED

The morning of January 6th I decided to turn on the television in my office to watch the Electoral College Certification Vote as I worked that day. I usually have little to no interest in regards to these sort of events, but given this tumultuous Presidency, my interest and concern has been at an all-time high. Little did I know that by the afternoon, I, along with millions of people around the world would become eye witnesses to another great travesty here on America's soil. My mind went back to September 11, 2001 when I woke up to the images of planes flying into the Twin Towers. I remember so vividly the moment I looked at the television initially thinking I was witnessing a scene out of an upcoming movie; I didn’t think it was real until the news commentators showed up on the screen stating that this was actually happening in New York City. While, I am fully aware that what happened on January 6th pale in comparison to the devastation of 9/11. Consequently, the imagery of hundreds to thousands of people, whom looked like crickets, ascending upon the United States Capitol immediately took my mind back to the semblance of disbelief. Is this really happening were the words that kept coming out of my mouth. To see this group of men and women storming the United States Capitol in this insurrectionist’s way, with little to no resistance from law enforcement, planning to attack and accost Members of Congress, including the Vice President of the United States was an unfathomable evil I felt I had a front row seat to witnessing. The difference between 9/11 is that, the terrorist attacks came from an outside enemy that caught us off guard, but the evil that occurred on January 6th was in “PLAIN SIGHT” and came from the hands of our own!! The only reason this treason was able to occur at the Capitol to this unprecedented destructive extent, is exclusively related to “WHO” carried it out. These terrorists were not brown nor black, not Muslim and Islamic, the absolute majority were everyday working-class White Americans that literally in some instances, walked right into the Capitol and seized it. Yet, we have the audacity to denounce the notion of “White Privilege” in our country. If this event did not serve as an irrefutable picture that revealed how White America is handled opposed to Black America, then the “Lie” that white privilege does not exist is definitely America’s truth, that many have been deceived by or have turn a blind eye to. Which further proves the cause of why "Black Lives Matter” exist. We all know that had any other group attempted a ruse of this sort, the end results would have been an American massacre. But, make no mistake, America is God’s country and he will have the last word. God at times will allow things to happen to reveal the truth and expose the lie, it is up to us to receive it.

As I watched, I was painfully aware that there were insiders before the news begin to report the collusion of certain police officers and members of Congress that clearly had to be in on this Insurgent. The first person that came to my mind was the sitting President. The silence and the slow move to action in calling in the National Guard was the biggest giveaway, until of course, he got on national television and opened his mouth to called them “special” and openly declared his “love” for them, unequivocally sealed the deal right on the White House lawn. As I continued to watch, I prayed for the lives of the people inside the Capitol. I prayed for the lives of the police officers that were on the side of right, in their efforts to protect our lawmakers in the midst of this massive hysteria. All being carried out by brain-washed citizens that believed repeated lies. Narcissistic behavior prompted by a narcissistic leader. If you watched any of the interviews, the people actually believe they were doing the right thing. President Trump repeated over and over that the Democrats would steal the election. After President -Elect Joe Biden won, he continued these lies, along with many other Republicans and news outlets. So much until I, myself begin to watch to see what the findings would be via the court cases that were presented. The facts were clear about the election. It has been repeated several times that the states in question were Republican ran states, the judges that overturned the court cases were judges Trump appointed, and last but certainly not least, the same dominion machines that were used in 2016 when he was elected are the same ones, that was use last year in the 2020 election! As the young people say….Where is the LIE!!! Stop! Just stop!

President Trump wrote a book back in 1987 called “The Art of the Deal”, that now has resurfaced during his time in office. The title says everything. There are a few quotes in the book where he states, “The final key to the way I promote is bravado”. “I play to people’s fantasies”. “People want to believe that something is the biggest and the greatest and the most spectacular”. “I call it truthful hyperbole”. “It’s an innocent form of exaggeration. – and a very effective form of promotion”. Let me go on record stating I have not personally read this book and never will. I took these quotes from the internet and did a fact check. I must admit the wording and tenor definitely sounds like his rhetoric. Let me just point out, “innocent” and “exaggeration” does not go together. I truly believe the use of these very tactics is “exactly” how President Trump secured such a huge following.

I entitled this blog “Poisoned” for a reason. There are many Americans today that have brought into President’s Trump “sauce” he’s been selling. Never underestimate the danger of “Power”, especially in the wrong hands. Sir John Acton in 1887 wrote “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely”. This is clearly what we have witnessed. The numbers show that half of America voted to put this man back in office. Knowing that he is a profuse liar and a man of ill repute. Not only did his followers make a god out of him, President Trump begin to display “god-like” tendencies. Please note I used little “god”. He is definitely no God of mine. The bible clearly tells us that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. We are seeing these scriptures unfold right before our eyes. This evil has always been present; we are seeing it unleashed in greater degrees.

Now is the time to make sure you are anchored in the Lord and in the truth of God’s word. There’s a story in the bible that speaks about poison being in a pot of soup. Someone had added some foreign substance to the soup that was going to be the meal for many. When the poisonous taste was detected, the men screamed out that there was death in the pot. The prophet being in good conscious realizing that they did not want to lose the pot of soup, added meal. You see the meal in the story represented God making the wrong right. They needed that tainted soup to survived. So, what should one do when your resource is tainted? You go to God for direction to change the outcome. This is where we are in America, there is definitely “death” in the pot! But thanks be to God that he is still “very” much in control of what appear to be uncontrollable situations and crisis every where we look. Remember God is a game changer! Just like adding the meal, preserved the soup. God knows the necessary changes that will need to take place to make things right for his people as well.

Let me wrap up in stating that I sincerely love everyone, regardless of the color of their skin. God made me color-blind. As people of God, we must stand up for truth and stand against evil even if it means becoming unpopular or losing supporters. This blog is not one of hate, but may contain harsh truths that we all must face if we dare to live in a better world. I prayed that God’s will would be done in this Presidential Election, not for the candidate of my choice, as I know many of you did as well. I personally feel that God’s will prevailed. Our nation is already divided and we do not need someone in power instigating more division. Let’s continue to pray for peace for our nation and that we will rekindle our love for one another!

Take some time over a cup of tea this upcoming week, as we enter into a new Presidency. President Elect Joe Biden and Vice-President Elect Kamala Harris definitely have their work cut out for them. We pray for their success, protection, and guidance as commanded by the word of God. We also pray for the members of Congress protection and that God will guide them for the good of the country.
